SURFING LEGEND ROBERT AUGUST

Robert August was the second child to “Blackie” and Pat August.

“Blackie” Roberts married the beautiful raven haired Pat, whom he had glanced his eyes over while spending one of his many days at the beach. Out of this union the second child, Robert arrived at the end of the War in’45. Blackies well known history for partying, surfing, and his generosity, made the August household the place of choice for all the surfing community over the 50′s and 60′s in the Seal Beach coast line of California.

BOB McTAVISH and EVERT HARDER at BOOK SIGNING “STOKED”

on SURFBOARD DESIGNERS TOUR.

Jamie Willems Event Manager fo Global Surf Industriesr G.S.I., presented the “Surfboard Designers Tour 2009″. Other notables on the “Tour” were Steve Walden, Greg Webber, Richie Lovett and Thomas Myerhoffer is now famous for his unusual shaped surfboard that doubles up as a short-come-longboard (see illustration attached). This board has the ability of a short board, where the rear shape comes into play, coupled with the full frontal of a Malibu.This board has impressed those who have tried it and sales seem to reflect that. Recycle Your old board Shorts For a Good Cause and these will be donated to the people in the disaster zones of Sumatra and Samoa. This will be done by the Volcom Surf Team travelling over there  and handing out the donated Board Shorts in the affected areas.
