Just “fanning” the web pages and video blogs for a bit of interesting footage to share, and came across a couple of videos of Mick Fanning. One was footage of Fanning courtesy of Steve Maloney of Sunnycoast Klips here on the Sunshine Coast, and the other by Mick Fanning him self from the Goldie that shares an interesting concept of surfing.
Just a little tad different to river surfing. Check out the tidal surges! Woosh!!

Sunnycoast Klips have provided some great footage of local surfers doing their thing at their best spots.
Stevo says “It was pumping and if you were in the right spot when a set marched through, then you were in the running for an all time tube”.
Tucking under some good sections, bailing or running through on others. However, some sick little waves have proved that local surfing talent is on the up, and that Barreling is still fun .
Some sick young locals doing their thing at Pitta, on equally sick waves.

Robert August was the second child to “Blackie” and Pat August.

“Blackie” Roberts married the beautiful raven haired Pat, whom he had glanced his eyes over while spending one of his many days at the beach. Out of this union the second child, Robert arrived at the end of the War in’45. Blackies well known history for partying, surfing, and his generosity, made the August household the place of choice for all the surfing community over the 50′s and 60′s in the Seal Beach coast line of California.

Tyler Larronde Hits Jaws Mostly seen in Laird Hamilton’s movies, JAWS is considered as one of the most impressive and dangerous wave in the world.Tyler was sitting behind his dad’s jet-ski who was doing a bit of tow-in with his friends at JAWS on December 25th… Then Michel asked around: “who wants to go next?” and Tyler proposed right away to have a go … Recently, nine times World Champion Kelly Slater asserted during “le Grand Journal” of Canal+ (french famous tv show) that he considers JAWS as one of the most difficult and dangerous wave in the world. Tyler’s performance will stay in the history of the famous surf spot by being the youngest surfer to ride the wave at that size with the coolness and the relaxed style that reminds of his dad Michel Larronde (ex member of the french team and respected big wave rider). CLASSIC MALIBU-PETERS STORY

NOOSA HEADS and CLASSIC MALIBU

Noosa Heads is renowned for its point surf, and Classic Malibu. The set-up is such that, when the swell is from the right direction, we can have five different breaks working simultaneously, each giving long, glassy walls to slide or rip on a Peter White Board.

This year has been decidedly different, barely a week has gone by since mid-January without a fairly decent swell gracing our shores keeping every one in the Surf Industry very busy.

The guys in the Classic Malibu factory who are always swimming against the tide of conformity are no different. With their tried and tested models continually refined to make them, if possible, even better, they are also adding in some new models, such as the V-Flex, and re-birthing some former-day classics, such as the Egg the Fish and the Stinger.

I mention at this point the ‘Classic’ Custom Mal’s that grace our Surf-Shop at Peregian Beach. Definitely one offs like a lot I have seen come out of the Noosa factory, and for the Twin Fin enthusiast, a splendid three stringer with hand shaped timber fins, to top off a Classic Peter White style.

While I’m on about Classic Malibu’s and Peter White, I have been given a Link on Peter’s history and how he evolved ending up in the Surfing Industry in Noosa, and it makes great reading.
